About the lighthouse:

Located on a concrete pier in Maumee Bay on Lake Erie, this 72-foot light marks the entrance to Toledo Harbor. Built in 1904 and automated in 1965, its Fresnel Lens produces two white flashes followed by one long, red flash. Overall lamp height is 24".

About the lighthouse:

Built in 1875 atop Thomas Point Shoal, out in the water, this attractive and unusual lighthouse has a construction that is quite typical of other populating the Middle Atlantic region. Due to the nature of its underpinnings, it appears to sit on stilts coming up from the ocean floor. Thomas Point was the last manned lighthouse on Chesapeake Bay. Although it can only be reached and seen by boat, it is the most photographed and painted lighthouse in the region. Overall lamp height is 24".

About the lighthouse:

The Whitefish Point Lighthouse, built in 1849, has a modern-day appearance that is surprising, due to its early origins. Its tower is an 80-foot-tall steel cylinder, supported by a skeletal steel superstructure framework. It is perhaps this unique construction that has allowed this keeper of the light to survive all of these years in far northern Michigan. Still active today, it flashes its beacon to ships and sailors from Whitefish Point, overlooking lonely Lake Superior, only miles from Canada. Overall lamp height is 24".

This colorful mariner's friend was built in 1910 and situated at the northern end of Lake Michigan. Its tower rises 121 feet, allowing its light to be seen an amazing 28 miles into Lake Michigan, to give sailors lots of advance warning of the dangers of the shoals on the Straits of Mackinac.
